$ir Williams isn't just making music, he’s painting scenarios. I caught up with the man behind the moniker to discuss his transition from the military to becoming an intentional lyricists in the city of Atlanta.

For Staten Island native Lawrence Williams, known professionally as $ir Williams, music and cinematography are no longer separate lanes—they are a "marriage." A military veteran who found his artist identity in a California barbershop, $ir Williams has transformed from a "scared" producer into an intentional storyteller rooted in Atlanta, Georgia's creative scene

The name $ir Williams”was born from a conversation with his barber, Chewy, who noted Lawrence’s proper, well−spoken nature. Finding the name already taken on Spotify, Lawrence simply swapped the "S" for a"$," creating a brand that reflects both respect and ambition. Today, he’s a multi-instrumentalist who views his keys and production as tools to "paint an emotion" rather than just making something that sounds good.

Whether it’s the disco-fueled fun of "Dream On"

or the raw, painful reality of "Strangers"—a track about being "strangers within your own home"—Williams pulls from his own life and the stories of those around him. His evolution is marked by a shift toward intentionality.

"My first recording was 'cheeks,'" he laughs, recalling loud snares

and maxed-out auto-tune.

Now, his focus

is on technical mastery and breath control, ensuring his studio recordings translate perfectly to a live stage.

For $ir Williams, success is synonymous with financial freedom and creative autonomy. With his team, The Wrld Wlkrs,

he is currently piecing together his next visual,

"In Your Life," a collaborative effort that promises his signature blend of music and skits. His advice to his "Day 1" self? "Stop caring sooner." The moment he stopped fearing judgment, he found his fans. Follow $ir Williams journey on Instagram: @theesirwilliams.
